As I reflect.. no pic needed from 10 years ago, I was 10 lbs lighter with s big head 😂😂 #10yearchallenge …. 10 years ago I was wondering how I would ever get used to living any other place than New York. I was in a job where I was under appreciated and undervalued. I finished my Masters Degree, while being a single mom. I took a leap several years later and quit my job without having another. It was the best move I ever made. God was showing me to know my worth and that something better would come along. I have been married again and divorced, however along this journey has been growth, experience and resolve. I’ve learned to be confident, I’ve learned that I am strong. I’ve also learned that people will take advantage of you if you let them. I’ve had some of the same friends for over 20 years. I’ve cleaned out my friend closet, some had to go. I’ve decided that body image is what you make it. I’ve gotten comfortable with myself and have learned to be not so critical of me. I’m in a position that supports all of that hard work and education. As a black woman I’m glad to be an example to others.. I’ve watched my son grow up. I’m amazed when he tells me I’m everything. That love that we are all looking for, well I may have found it. All of the lessons and experiences 10 years ago have brought me to this place. Life may not be perfect but it’s definitely worth the ride. Every step has been orchestrated by him. Lessons that we must learn before the rewards come. So I’m living in faith and trusting the process.
